Juliette Thomas

Juliette Thomas, a proud native of North Preston, Nova Scotia, currently resides in East Preston with her husband, together they have two daughters. She earned her diploma from the Nova Scotia Community College's Institute of Technology Campus in 1996. With 28 years of dedication to Dalhousie University's Faculty of Dentistry, Juliette serves as a Registered Dental Assistant and Coordinator of the North Preston Oral Health – Outreach Pediatric Clinic. Her passion for promoting good oral health led her to actively engage the community, participating in classroom presentations and volunteering for organizations like Special Olympics and various community events. Her remarkable commitment earned her recognition from the Halifax Regional Council in 2019 and the prestigious Don Pamenter Friend of Dentistry Award in 2020. Beyond her professional life, Juliette cherishes her downtime, enjoying activities like cooking for loved ones, hosting family gatherings, and nurturing her creative spirit through painting, crafting and unique jewelry creations under the name "Jewels by Jules," she finds joy in sharing her talents with the community. She founded and chaired The Preston Area Cancer Organization for over 15 years. She actively volunteers with her church and for numerous community groups, offering craft classes and creating unique jewelry. Her dedication extends to organizations such as the East Preston Family Resource Centre, North Preston Daycare, East Preston Daycare, North Preston Seniors group, Preston Housing, Akoma Family, North Preston Community Center and the MacPhee’s Centre for Creative Learning, among others. Juliette's favorite Bible quote, Isaiah 54:17, "No weapon formed against you shall prosper," reflects her resilience, and her daily mantra, "Take nothing for granted because tomorrow is not promised," inspires her to make the most of each day.
