Rodney Thomas
Rodney Thomas, a proud lifelong resident of East Preston, is a devoted husband and father who has been a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 625 since 1981 and earned his Red Seal certification in 1985. With expertise in residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional electrical work, he has worked on projects across Nova Scotia and abroad. Rodney’s commitment to service is evident in his charitable contributions, including Habitat for Humanity projects and community initiatives. He was recently honored by the Preston Area Housing fund for his dedication to the community. As a mentor, Rodney has inspired the next generation through school career days, youth programs, and hands-on learning. He continues to guide aspiring electricians, helping them develop their skills and excel in the trade. Beyond his profession, Rodney served six years as a volunteer firefighter with the Lake Echo and Area Fire Department and as an RCMP Stetsons and Spurs Youth Group advisor. His legacy of service and mentorship continues to make a difference. Through his career, volunteer efforts, and as a role model, Rodney’s dedication and generosity have left a lasting impact.
