Tanya Fraser
Tanya is from the African Communities of Uniacke Square, Africville, Cherrybrook, North Preston, and currently resides in the community of Upper Hammonds Plains . She is a devoted wife and mother to 4 girls and is a passionate youth and young adult leader who continues to help educate and empower the upcoming generations. Tanya has a social service diploma where she then went on to Mount Saint Vincent University to do a double major in family studies and woman studies. She is passionate about helping educate youth on their academics and cultural experiences and is currently an active member within the community of Upper Hammonds Plains – taking on the role of Youth Coordinator at the Upper Hammonds Plains Community Centre. As a mother of 4, Tanya understands the importance of guidance and leadership when it comes to helping youth thrive to their full potential while creating balance in their day-to-day life. She enjoys working with children and young adolescence, by creating programs and awareness, and helping them develop while strengthening their skills to prepare them for their future endeavors. Tanya continues to be a strong advocate for our African Canadian Youth by ensuring them that they are well supported within our Black communities.
