Timi Idris
Timi is an accomplished leader, advocate, and researcher. Recognized for her outstanding community work, she was honored as the 2021 Young Alumni of the Year by Saint Mary’s University and named one of Canada’s 30 Young Impact Leaders in 2022. Timi is dedicated to increasing Black representation in health professions and currently serves as the Manager of the Promoting Leadership in health for African Nova Scotians (PLANS) program at Dalhousie University. Her research focuses on social determinants of health, Black health, employee well-being, and food insecurity. Driven by her passion for creating meaningful change, Timi seeks to develop strategies that make academia more accessible, fostering stronger connections between institutions and communities. Through her work, she aims to bridge personal and cultural divides to advance equitable opportunities.
